The monitoring station is within a self-contained, air-conditioned housing 85 metres from the nearest main road. Situated on the edge of a sports field the site is surrounded on two sides by residential properties. The M1 motorway is 2 miles west of the site. The manifold inlet is 4 metres high. The surrounding area is generally open and represents an urban background site.
