The monitoring station is located in the basement of a property adjacent to the A4 trunk road which runs from Bristol to Reading. This is a busy two lane two-way road which is subject to frequent congestion. The monitoring station is located approximately 100 yards from a set of traffic lights. The majority of the buildings surrounding the site are three to four storeys creating street canyons. The manifold inlet is located approximately 3 metres from the kerbside, approximately 4 metres above ground level, and 3 metres from the kerbside. The immediate area in the vicinity of the manifold inlet is open.
