The monitoring station is within a self-contained, air-conditioned housing located in a pedestrian piazza between eight and eleven-storey council offices. It is situated approximately 30 metres from a three lane one-way road which is subject to congestion at peak times. Traffic flow is approximately 14,500 vehicles per day. The manifold is approximately 3 metres above ground level. The immediate area in the vicinity of the manifold inlet is open.
