The monitoring station is within an existing brick-built clocktower located within the grounds of a school approximately 1 km north-west of the city centre. Major roads are approximately 120 metres to the south-west, and 400 metres to the south-east and east, respectively. Vehicle flows are approximately 14,300, 47,800 and 49,800 vehicles per day for each of the roads, respectively. The manifold inlet is approximately 15 metres above ground level and unobstructed in any direction. The general area is open and comprises city centre retail and business outlets.
